Abstract | Our first meeting this year will be a true conference: an open discussion to share our experiences of 2020 — pandemics, lockdowns and new insights about society and the detailed role of IT within it. What knowledge have we gained about the need for meetings, and conducting them over the internet? How do we network effectively, yet remotely? Are there better ways of organising and providing services; ordering and paying online; click and collect; routine deliveries? How do we detect scams and fake news; develop new ways of delivering healthcare and teaching; perform better data analysis and predictive informatics; and remove old, unnecessary activities and procedures? Let’s share our new insights, techniques and knowledge!
Profile | Dr John Lockley is a recently retired GP with a lifetime's interest in and experience of medical software, its design and its use. He is also Chair of the Society of Medical Writers, a discipline playing a large part in the development of user-friendliness.
