Abstract |
Simon will be using some practical exercises using paper, pens, plates and jelly beans to demonstrate how machine learning algorithms actually work. This helps understand how a “dumb” computer that is just following some coded rules can become “intelligent” and beat Grandmaster Chess players, drive autonomous vehicles or simply pick a Netflix program we will enjoy.
Profile | Simon has worked in IT for over 30 years, for large blue-chip companies such as BP, National Grid and Anglian Water, as well as small digital agencies. He is currently co- founder of a startup creating digital products for people living with dementia.
