You are sitting quietly at your home computer, looking for those flowers to send to your loved one (because you forgot Valentine’s Day) and suddenly all your money disappears, your partner leaves you for an old school friend, and the police come round and arrest you for hacking. Really? How safe are you? This lecture plans to dispel some of the myths and legends of your security when you use your own computer. The presentation will show you some of the ways you can remain safe while still being able to use the internet, and will explain away a lot of the jargon used and you should come away knowing a bit more about the many buzzwords.

Robert has been in IT for the last 35 years, working with major UK banks in the global technology group, developing and setting up branch applications and desktop and the rebuilding the WorldPay environment. He’s also a published fiction writer and a keen photographer and ‘imagesmith’.
