Abstract

CSRchain was born from a family-led research initiative into ethical accountability frameworks within Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Co-founded by mother and daughter, Julia and Nika, and being built together with Shaun Underwood, a blockchain specialist, CSRchain is being developed as a next-generation blockchain solution that embeds verifiable accountability at the core of sustainability reporting.

Unlike traditional CSR reports, often based on voluntary disclosures and susceptible to greenwashing CSRchain provides a transparent, immutable, and auditable record of key metrics such as carbon emissions, fair wages, community impacts and more.

It is currently being developed as an independent blockchain protocol and platform for ethical ESG and CSR reporting.

Profile

Julia Underwood

Julia's unique experience bridges blockchain strategy, sustainable business, governance and conservation leadership.

As CEO of CSRChain, she leads the development and implementation of blockchain-based verification systems designed to transform corporate social responsibility from voluntary claims into immutable, auditable proof. She also serves as Managing Director of TAFU, overseeing strategic direction, organisational development and sustainability-led initiatives.

Alongside her executive work, Julia is involved in education and mentoring, with a student-centred approach and the belief that every student can realise their potential. Her work is guided by a determination to strengthen responsibility and transparency, ensuring that truth and measurable impact become the standard, not the exception.

Nika Underwood

Nika's experience spans across AI, sustainable technology, conservation and digital innovation.

As Chief AI Officer at CSRChain, she focuses on integrating AI-driven verification into blockchain-based accountability systems to reduce greenwashing risk and strengthen measurable responsibility.

She is also the Founder and CEO of TAFU, where she leads initiatives that combine technology with real-world impact.

Currently studying AI & Robotics, Nika is particularly interested in designing ethical, future-facing systems that embed responsibility at their core rather than treating it as an afterthought.
