Abstract

Headless technology is the new interactive way to build websites to connect with online customers and enable web data collection and AI.

During the pandemic, businesses adapted quickly to trade online. Headless technology allowed businesses to pivot quickly at lower costs.

Headless technology is a concept that is trending. The name comes from the way that headless technology works. This technology disengages the front-end (head) from the back-end (body) layer. The technology utilises APIs to connect web elements together.

This talk has three parts. It shall start with an update on web development best practices, trends, and how SME-sized businesses adapted during the pandemic using Headless technology. The speaker shall illustrate headless adoption with business examples.

The corporate website is no longer a means to inform customers, the final part of the talk will look at data collection and AI-powered analysis commonly used to support marketing. The data protection and privacy implications would be explored.
